The Mountain Cambridge School is proud to celebrate the achievements of one of our outstanding alumni, Cayley Smith, a proud member of the MCS Class of 2021. Her journey of academic excellence has reached yet another milestone. Cayley has been named the top third-year student in her course at the prestigious University of Glasgow, one of the United Kingdom’s most competitive and highly regarded universities.

This latest honour comes as no surprise to those who know Cayley’s dedication and passion for learning. In her first year at the University of Glasgow, she was awarded the John Hunter Medal, a distinction given to the highest-achieving student in her programme. To now achieve this top recognition again in her third year highlights her remarkable consistency, determination, and intellect.

The University of Glasgow, the third-largest university in the UK, only officially ranks students during their first and third years of study. For Cayley to be recognised as the top student at both stages of her degree underscores her unwavering commitment to excellence. She will officially receive her prize at her graduation ceremony in two years’ time, a moment we eagerly anticipate celebrating alongside her.

Cayley’s journey stands as a shining example of what is possible when strong foundations meet ambition and perseverance. Her accomplishments reflect not only her own hard work but also the ethos of excellence and curiosity nurtured during her years at The Mountain Cambridge School.

“Cayley’s success is a source of great pride for our school community. She embodies the values of resilience, diligence, and a love of learning that we strive to inspire in all our learners,” says Executive Head, Carolina van Heerden.

We are immensely proud of Cayley and the inspiring example she sets for current and future MCS learners. Her story reminds us that with a strong educational foundation, a determined spirit, and a passion for growth, the possibilities are endless.

Congratulations, Cayley! You continue to make the MCS family proud, and we look forward to watching your journey unfold and celebrating many more milestones in the years ahead.
